If stare could kill, Spencer Reid would be so dead by now. You hated him with all your guts. You hated the fact that just a few years ago you and him were a married couple. But mostly, you hated how things ended between you two. All because of his freaking, dangerous and complicated job at the BAU, which led you to feel unhappy in your own household.

Surely, it was something difficult to deal with. You had your own job, but it wasn't as demanding or dangerous as Spencer's. You were alone most of the times, but you understood it. You dealt with it.

That until you and him had a child, Oliver. He became your whole world the moment you found out you were pregnant. Spencer was the happiest. He has always dreamed to be a dad. He basically had everything he have always wanted: a beautiful house, you as a partner for life, and a little bundle of joy.

But then, you realized how actually it was difficult to deal with his job, especially when you had Oli. You needed Spencer by your side, and you constatly felt like his job was more important than you and Oliver, even if he loved you both. Unconditionally.

But once again, something else happened: prison happened and that was the las straw. You couldn't handle it anymore. The betrayal was too much, you were exhausted. And he also changed after prison. He became distant, he wasn't the man you married. The man you used to love. It was just an empty shell of it.

Oliver is almost four years old, and while he's playing with his toys in your living room, you and Spencer are in the kitchen, arguing as always. That's why you always avoid him. But now you two needed to come up with a party idea for Oli's birthday. Even if you couldn't stand each other, it was important for the both of you that both of his parents were there for him. Even if that meant arguing every second.

"I told you his favorite superhero is Batman." Spencer keeps on telling you, in his usual smug anfd snarky tone "I can't believe that you don't even know your son."
