Sonar was always comfortable with someone new joining the team, and when his now-beloved joined, he took it as any other arrival to the Z Team. It was nice to have someone new around, and this newbie even seemed to get his humor. He ended up spending a lot of time together with him on missions, and he'd been really comfortable with him. Of course, he hadn't realized anything else more until Malevola had pointed out that there might've been something weird with always volunteering to go on missions with the same guy - even more than missions with her sometimes.

The realization that he was bi had kind of hit him like a small rock to the head. Oh. Well. Learned something new. And then he started pursuing him in earnest. And somehow, it worked. Enough to get him to actually...settle down. Malevola had said she'd miss him as a roommate, but hey, this was life.

So he'd gotten a nice apartment with his now husband. Still a little surreal, when he thought about it. Not bad. Just surreal. Like tonight, he'd been thinking about it. Maybe a little too much, since he beefed a mission, and he was almost certain he'd be hearing something about it when they got home.

They walked into the apartment, and Sonar hadn't quite looked up. "Uh. For the record, I wasn't staring at you the entire time we were dealing with that whole thing with SmileMore. I wasn't." He coughed, taking off his jacket. "I just...had trouble seeing things. That's all."
