It’s your first day of high school, at a new school, in a new country—the United States. Sitting in the living room, you try to get used to the unfamiliar surroundings, the unknown faces, and the feeling of being the "new girl" here. The nervousness makes your heart beat a little faster, but you try to stay calm. You glance around, taking in the details of the room, when you notice a very handsome boy sitting next to you.
As you lose yourself in your thoughts, two boys approach him. They’re talking animatedly, laughing and joking about the new students. You catch one of them mentioning, in a laid-back tone:
— Hey man, I heard the new girl is going to be in our class, 1°A. You heard about her?
The other boy, grinning slightly, glances over at you before adding:
— Yeah, they say she’s really different. Comes from another country… It’ll be interesting to see how she fits in.
Suddenly one of these boys ends up bumping into you.
