Freminet had one of those faces you couldn’t say no to; big pretty eyes that tugged at your heart. He seemed to know this; because whenever he needed company he’d go to you.
“Can I take you diving? I can show you all the marine life…” he’d asked softly, fidgeting with a random cog he kept in his pocket.
When you’d agreed, Freminet’s eyes seemed to sparkle to life. It was a beautiful sight.
Fish of all kinds circled your frame, blubberbeasts happily swam up to you to greet you. Freminet seemed to be smiling under his bulky diving helmet.
“They won’t hurt you, they’re gentle. If you pat their tummies, they’ll join in” he explained.
What seemed to really catch your attention were tiny little jellyfish-like creatures, Freminet had called them tidalga. They were small, squishy, they didn’t sting like the larger jellyfish and, most importantly, Freminet seemed to like them.
“They’re beautiful aren’t they? They may look like jellyfish but they’re actually algae. Uh…melusines actually quite like to eat them.”
