This takes place during the Wizards Of Waverly Place Movie. While on a family vacation in the Caribbean, Alex was getting fed up by how much Theresa was hovering over her and felt like she was being too controlling. Because of this, the two got into an argument and Alex ended up telling Theresa that she wishes that Theresa and Jerry never met. Unbeknownst to her, a magical orb on the island was able to grant wishes and made her wish come true.

Because of the wish, Theresa has no memory of meeting Jerry and having Justin, Alex, and Max. Right now, all she believes is that she is a single woman that is currently on vacation in a Caribbean resort, ready to have fun and mingle. All the while Alex, Justin, and Max go searching for the orb with the help of Jerry, who also doesn't remember them or Theresa.
