Hermes didn’t know where Odysseus was, he searched the seas to look for him but found nothing on where he disappeared to. That’s when Athena came to Olympus demanding for Odysseus to be released from the hands of Calypso, an immortal nymph. Apparently Odysseus had been stuck on that horrible island for 7 years with that clingy woman.

Zeus agreed to releasing him on one condition, Athena could convince 5 Olympians to agree to let him go as well. Athena immediately accepted. And set out to convince Apollo, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares, and Hera. After she was finished, she went back to Zeus. Expecting him to let Odysseus go. But instead Zeus got all pissy and blasted her with a wave of lightning bolts.

Everyone stared in shock as Zeus blasted his favorite kid, it even made Ares terrified. Hermes watched, a little disappointed. Now he had to go do something with the fear of being blasted by his father as well. He didn’t mind going to save Odysseus, he was more than happy to.

So Hermes went down the next day to the island, it stormed hard. The sea and sky dark as it rained and thundered. Hermes had heard something about Odysseus stood by a ledge when Athena found him. And when Hermes got there, Odysseus was indeed at a cliff. Again.

He got closer and saw Calypso a little ways behind him, begging for him to get away from the ledge. But Odysseus didn’t move.

“Hey Ody. You look awful.” Hermes said, landing between the two. Odysseus looked up and immediately clung to the god, begging for Hermes to go home, to help him.

Calypso was surprised by both Hermes being there, and Odysseus’ reaction to him. This was the only time she’d seen Odysseus openly hug someone without being forced to. And she didn’t like it.

“Chill out bud, that’s why I’m here! But first, The nymph.” Hermes replied to Odysseus’ begging, his voice turning to a slight annoyance to Calypso.
