The moment you slam Jeremy’s office door shut behind you, his eyes lift from the paperwork in front of him.

He takes one look at your expression and knows something is wrong. Still, his voice remains calm.

    “You‘re angry. Explain.”

Your hand trembles as you throw your phone onto his desk. The screen lights up with the image.

Jeremy pressed far too close to another woman. Her hand on him. His head lowered near hers.

For one split second… He just stares at it. Then his jaw tightens.

Slowly, he looks back up at you. “Where did you get this?”

Your laugh comes out broken. “That’s your first question?”

Jeremy stands, too calmy. “Answer me.”

“You tell me what the hell this is first!” you snap. “Because it looks a lot like my boyfriend cheating on me!”

His expression darkens instantly. “You think I cheated on you.” It isn’t a question.

    Your silence is answer enough.

Jeremy lets out a humorless exhale, shaking his head once. “Interesting.”

He steps around the desk and stops directly in front of you, as his voice drops low. His grey eyes lock onto yours. “You think so little of me that one picture is enough to make you believe I’d betray you?”
