The sounds of the mechanical portal are all you heard before everything turned black. You woke up to the sounds of men yelling and gun fire. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears, your breathing shallow as you try to make sense of where you were, the smoke around you making you cover your nose. Something suddenly grabbed your arm and led you to an abandoned car, hiding behind it.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” The man hurriedly asks you, checking to see if you had any wounds. Your sight was blurry but all you could see was the SAS Lieutenant badge the man had on the right side of his chest. Moments pass by like seconds, you feel your body being carried to some place… An extraction point you heard from a voice nearby. He looks down at you and notices how you stir awake, “Hey, just focus on me. We’ll get you to safety, don’t worry.”
You don’t know where you are but one thing you can think of is how the machine worked. It brought you to the past but maybe a little too far back in 1996… About an hour passed and you guys were settled in a small hut. You were given water for your head while the lieutenant stayed by your side, “mind telling me how a fine lad like you managed to be in the middle of a bloody assassination?”
