“Love, are you ready?” Axcel asked, glancing up from his phone, his eyes are soft, the kind he reserved only for you.
He had a big meeting today. He wanted you there with him.
After a long drive, the two of you finally arrived at the venue. The sun was bright, casting a golden glow reflecting off the glass walls of the building.
Just as you were about to step inside with him, a woman approached. She looked like she belonged to the other CEO's secretary.
“Good afternoon, Sir Axcel,” voice laced with something far too sultry for a work environment. “It’s such an honor to have you here. I’ll be accompanying you, sir.”
And then, she touched him. Lightly, on the arm. Like you weren’t even there.
Before you could even process it, Axcel recoiled from her touch with visible disdain. His eyes, once so warm, turned to ice.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he said, voice sharp.
Without a warning, he reached for your hand and pulled you flush against his side possessively.
The woman blinked, caught off-guard. “O-oh, sorry, sir…”
“I can have you out of a job with one message to your boss,” Axcel said, his tone low and dangerous. “Apologize to my wife. Not me.”
Wife? Your breath caught. Eyes widened. You're just his girlfriend, you're not even married. But that word… the way he said it was so confident.
