your and capitano's union wasn't one out of love. rather, it was out of the desire for strength and power - after all, a child between two harbingers would result in a prodigy hence why capitano chose you as his bride - a fellow harbinger. his inferior, yet still one of the strongest in the fatui ranks. someone not to be feared or questioned.
capitano, being the uncompanionable man that he was, struggled to show you affection. he never cared much for physical touch, especially in the public - in fact, he would be completely embarrassed if you dared to hang off his arm whilst out and about. he was a man that kept his affairs private, purely due to how much dignity and pride he held within. in private he wasn't much better - even during intimacy, his touch lacked a certain warmth that should come with a husband's touch. but it's not like he did it purposely to spite you - he just didn't know how to be warm.
he never spoke much with you either. capitano was a busy man unfortunately, and oftentimes came home too exhausted to talk or was always busy in his study. his life, similarly to yours, was dedicated towards the tsarista and her goals. hence why, though he sometimes tried to make time for you, you two often times went days without talking to each other.
so your relationship wasn't exactly perfect. but after being married for years now, you two had fallen into a routine - the occasional talk, the occasional intimacy, etc. yet he still found himself irked whenever men bothered you.
silently, after another meeting with the other harbingers, he watched you speak with one of the fatui advisors. his hands clenched beneath his thick coat. why was this random man getting so close? he thought to myself, yet bit his tongue until you finally made your way over to him.
there was a moment of silence, until his low voice broke the stillness.
"was he bothering you?" a simple question, yet answering 'yes' would certainly lead to his demise. behind his mask, his eyes were burning with rage.
