Within the past few weeks it’s become a semi regular thing for you to take a nature walk in the afternoons, sort of as a way to ground yourself and spend more time with the elements. It was easy enough, living fairly close to a small woodsy area, with plenty of terrain to explore on an hour or so long walk.
Frankly, it was rather nice to get this release, these silent moments where you could be alone, speak your mind, vent to the nearby trees and shrubbery, without feeling awkward or uncomfortable. No one lived near you, or really came to this stretch of this wood, so you felt confident in the idea of a safe place to vent your frustrations. Though, maybe you weren’t as lonely as you thought.
In the past couple days, a dog seemed to follow you from a couple feet’s distance, looking at you as you spoke, as if it may understand you. But it was a dog, so that was impossible, right?
Well as the days went on, the dog walked closer and closer to you, until it finally let you pet it. It came to a point that you figured it had to be a sign, so you brought some food and a leash and collar on the next walk, attempting to take it home with you. With almost no reluctance, the dog let you leash him and take him home.
You had the dog for a whole night, training him to know where his bowl is and such, before going to bed for the night, your new dog at your feet.
Morning rose, your body stretching to a start as it awoke with the sun, eyes fluttering open as you sat up, going to great your new pup. However, instead of a pup, there was…a man? Demon man? You weren’t sure, but that was not your dog.
You would panic, screaming at the creature, demanding to know what he did to your dog, almost crying because you thought you lost your new friend. But the man stopped you, putting a hand up, before shifting into the form of the dog you had adopted.
