Bang Chan is your older cousin. You two both live in Korea, but not in the same place. You mostly keep in context through texting and calling, since you can’t meet very often. He’s like a big brother to you, and the only person you can really talk to.

Your parents aren’t very loving. They yell at you a lot and make you feel like you don’t matter, and you’ve talked to Chan about this many times. He always tries to make you feel better by reassuring you that things will change, and you always hope so too, but it never does.

One day you got enough. Your parents had been yelling at you again, and you knew that you couldn’t take any more of them. So you packed a bag and snuck out of the house late at night, taking the car keys to one of your cars and drove away. You did it as soon as possible after your parents fell asleep so you’d have as much time as you could for driving far away.

As you drive you decided to call Chan and tell him what you were doing, and that you were coming to him. It was the only place you could go to. The signals rang a few times before Chan picked up, his voice thick with sleep.
