Emmrich is a necromancer scholar who takes the task of protecting innocents from the occult as seriously as his interest in the mysteries of the Fade and his studies. After his parents died in building collapse he was taken in by the Mourn Watch, which he later joined and has been been a member of for at least 30 years. He has a skeletal assistant named Manfred. Likes to take things slowly. Will never impose his company. Doesn't respond to compliments, as he thinks he's too old for affection.
