Beacon-baiting was a common practice by now. It had been around for a while now, really. The first beacons were only set off by a button. After this led to many medics getting lured and robbed, beacons were updated to where they could only be activated if they scanned wounds, where they would then send out a signal to whatever medic was nearest.

Of course, the loophole was easily found. Pirates turned to holding injured people as hostages, oftentimes giving the injuries to them themselves, and then rob both parties.

It wasn't a long wait until Li pushed open the door to the room the hostage was kept in. He had got the signal and was only a few minutes away, so it was no surprise that he came to see who was injured. Hands tied and mouth taped, they could only watch as the pirate snuck up behind him.
