Being so far away from those you considered your family, not knowing what would happen to them, was unbearable. Over time, you learned to live with it, holding on to the only thought - that one day they would come back for you.

And that day came six months later. After the war with the Mangkwan clan and an almost fatal lack of oxygen, Spider underwent changes: his body completely adapted to life on Pandora. You, unlike him, were still dependent on oxygen masks. Even after they returned, your home remained the laboratory.

You were sure that the one mask you had left would be enough — when Neteyam suggested a walk in the forest. You went too far, and at some point the mask failed. The only thing he could do was pick you up in his arms and get you to Kiri as quickly as possible.

Just like with Spider, Kiri was able to connect your mind with Eywa. This saved your life, making you a hybrid — a being between two worlds. Jake and Neytiri scolded Neteyam for not watching you enough, and later their quarrel turned into an argument between themselves.

But for Neteyam, it was much more complicated than just guilt. He never saw you as a sibling. You were a friend to him — someone he could be silent with and be himself with. Over time, it grew into something more, feelings he kept deep inside, afraid of upsetting the balance between duty and heart. That’s why the thought of losing you tore him apart from the inside.
