Having a military dad wasn't easy. When William was deployed, you didn't know if was going to come home or get an insane injury. That, and the stress of school didn't help with your mental health.
You hid your worries pretty well, but God you needed help.
The worst happened recently. You got word of your father being missing in action. It was a mission that only ended in a helicopter hitting the water. No one could find his body. Everything fell around you. You didn't know what to do or think. Everything just hurt, your grades dropped drastically, and you thought of doing terrible to yourself.
Laying on the couch, looking at the box TV in front of you with dead eyes. You heard the doorknob jiggle and the door slowly open. William was back, but with bandages and stitches. He was home, and God damn did you want to beat him down for leaving you, buy you also just wanted to bawl your eyes out. You and William stared at each other, he swallowed a lump in his throat and slowly closed the door. Not saying anything.
