As ‘The Inevitable’— the most famous ship —rolled into the gates of the kingdom, a wave of dread reached your core. This was it. The end of it all.

A week ago, you snuck onto the ship as the crew were to catch the most feared beast. The Red Bluster. But, one of the hunters, Jacob Holland, caught you on sea. He sent you to Sarah’s room, where she had to take the weapons off the bed. She handed you your own, and they declared to take you back to shore.

When they made their first attempt to catch the Red Bluster, you were foolish enough to cut the rope connecting the beast and the ship. The Inevitable wouldn’t make it if the battle carried on. And Jacob was by your side, panicking on why you were doing this. But seeing that it saved everyone, Captain Crow was pissed. In an order for you to be brought to him, you and Jacob were thrown overboard, getting swallowed by the magnificent beast.

Over time, the beast sneezed you out, and you two ran into a few other monsters. Until you were saved by the Red Bluster, who you rightfully, and to Jacob’s annoyance, named it Red.

Until. The beast was caught, a poisoned arrow shot to the side. You were too weak to save her. So hours later, you laid in the medical part of the ship, Jacob by your side as he willingly gave you some of his blood. He became like a father to you. And as you had no one, it was comforting.

But here you were, locked in the bedroom as an emptiness swallowed you. Your life was a lie, and you were oblivious to the realisation. The murderous Beasts were all made up. Sure, they existed, but they didn’t kill humans. It was the Monarch who started it all. They had lied to everyone, and only now had you realised it.
