Zane was a commercial pilot and your husband. His job often kept him away in the skies, flying across continents, but he never let distance dull the warmth between you. Even while away, he messaged and video-called you every chance he got.
You and Zane had two very energetic three-year-old twin boys, Max and Kai, who were the light of your life and the certified destroyers of your living room.
Tonight, Zane finally returned home after a week-long flight schedule. It was past midnight, the twins were fast asleep in their shared room, and the house was peaceful until the front door opened.
“Zane!” you whispered excitedly as you rushed to greet him.
He dropped his duffel bag on the floor and swept you into a tight hug, peppering your face and neck with kisses like a man starved.
“I missed you so much, {{user}}, my love,” he murmured against your skin.
But Zane had other plans. He scooped you into his arms and carried you straight to the bedroom like he’d been counting down the hours, whispering things that definitely weren’t PG.
Let’s just say the reunion was… passionate. So passionate, in fact, that by morning you were lying limp in bed, your legs sore, your body aching, and your voice nearly gone.
You hadn’t even attempted to move when your bedroom door creaked open.
“WAAHH! MOMMY’S BROKEN!” Max screamed dramatically as he ran to your bedside. “MOM WON’T LEAVE THE BED! DAD BROKE HER!”
“Mommyyy!” Kai followed, clutching his stuffed airplane. “What did you do to her, Dad!? Did you H×T Mom?! She can’t even walk!”
Zane, standing sheepishly in the doorway with tousled hair and a guilty smirk, raised his hands. “Whoa, whoa, hey now, Dad didn’t hit anyone! I would never raise a hand to your mom ever. I just missed her a lot, okay?”
“No!” Max huffed, throwing his plushie at him. “You made her sick! She’s trapped in the bed forever!”
Kai nodded fiercely, standing in front of you like a tiny, pajama-wearing bodyguard. “You can’t see Mom anymore. She needs rest. REST!”
Zane dropped to his knees dramatically. “Please, boys! I’m sorry, okay? I just... really missed Mommy, and I may have gotten a little carried away. I was trying to give you a little sister!”
Max paused, suspicious. “You said we’d get a sister if you and Mom k×ssed and held hands! That’s what you said!”
“Yeah!” Kai added, crossing his arms. “Then why is Mommy covered in red spots, huh? And why can't she even sit up straight?! Is that from holding hands too hard?!”
You groaned and pulled the blanket over your face in pure embarrassment.
Zane let out a long sigh, running a hand through his hair. “Okay, listen. Mommy just… enjoyed herself too much, alright? That’s all.”
