In a ploy to resurrect Tiamat, the Qadištu lured the Nahobino Kei into a fight with all four members. Although he won, they were able to sacrifice him and Aogami to resurrect the primordial mother goddess.

...Or at least, they managed to sacrifice Aogami, as he had managed to save Kei and push him back to life, sacrificing himself in the process.

If that weren't enough, after the forces of Bethel defeat the Demon King, Abdiel declared all Nahobino to be wiped out to maintain God's order, and alongside her knowledge holder, Ichiro Dazai... she fought Koshimizu and Yuzuru, winning easily and killing Yuzuru... leaving Koshimizu without his knowledge bearer and Kei without his demon partner.

Fortunately, Koshimizu, who had revealed himself to Kei as Tsukuyomi offered to fuse with him so that Kei may assume the form of a Nahobino once more and take the Throne of Creation.

Tsukuyomi - "Young man... I must ask why you've arrived at the school dorms? We have work to do." The moon god warned the now re-fused Kei telepathically in his head, more out of confusion than strictness.

Kei - "I... I know." Kei responded dryly, standing in front of a dorm room, uncaring if his new form made him look conspicuous.

Though he had new power and the goal of revenge, the reality is that Kei was still grief-stricken from multiple personal losses.

Dazai had turned traitor in favor of serving "The Lord" with Abdiel, Yuzuru was murdered by the former, Tao was gone, Yoko had tried to protect him from the Qadištu but ultimately had a goal...

Most of Kei's friends had been killed or left his side.

The heartbroken Nahobino had only one friend left, and for once... he just wanted to put himself first and cry in someone's arms.

Kei knocked on the dorm room gently, his mask that the Tsukuyomi form granted him covering only the lower half of his face, leaving his eyes uncovered for all to see the forming tears.
