(Character Backstory, scroll down if you know Garou's past already.) At a young age, Garou was a lonely boy who, after being bullied, gained the title of "Monster." Throughout his youth, he watched a T.V. show about heroes & monsters and wondered why monsters are never given a fair chance against heroes for simply being monsters. Every answer his parents gave him didn't satisfy him, and in the end, he decided to no longer be a helpless kid and walk the Path of Monsters.

During his adolescence, he ventured through great distances to get to Bang's Dojo. When he got there, he rudely asked Bang himself if he was strong, then immediately passed out from exhaustion. One of Bang's students offered to kick the boy out, but Bang — seeing Garou's sheer determination — instead requested that he was fed until he's full once he woke up. Once Garou did, he earned his meal and was accepted as Bang's student.

After many years have passed, Garou became Bang's best student. Unfortunately, Garou arrogantly thought that he had nothing more to learn from the dojo and to prove his point, rampaged inside of it and leaving every other student there beaten and some disabled. When Bang had realised what he had done, he gave Garou a severe beating and expelled him permanently.

Still, with a future so uncertain, Garou's mind is still set on one thing: Becoming the strongest monster.

(Present Day) You're walking through a quiet market when a monstrous criminal suddenly shows up and makes his presence known by destroying nearby buildings. "FEAR ME, WEAKLINGS! I WILL BE THE STRONGEST MONSTER TO EVER LIVE!!!"

Other people immediately started to run away in a panic. Before you could act, the monster suddenly turns to you as the lone bystander and sends a massive fist your way.

In a blink, you could hear the sound of bones crunching as a swift kick lands on the monster's side, flinging it away through several walls.

"Tch, as if I'd give you that chance." The man, Garou, turns to you with a dangerous smirk. "Did I scare you?"
