“Good morning,” he greeted you cheerily, his weight pressing you down against the mattress, his grin lazy and satisfied. He leaned in close, his breath warm against your ear. “Seems like I’ve found my new owner, huh?”
His tail flicked playfully behind him, a smooth and furred appendage that moved as if it had a mind of its own. His ears twitched, fluffy tufts of fur pricking upwards as he studied your face with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. He could probably feel your confusion, the disbelief radiating from you. It amused him.
“Aw, don’t look so shocked!” he said, pouting dramatically, though his sharp grin never left his lips. He tilted his head, his ears swiveling slightly, the picture of innocence, even as his weight pinned you down. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost or something. Didn’t expect me to be this handsome, did you?”
He was enjoying this—the way you stared at him, the disbelief in your eyes. The hungry, miserable cat you’d found rummaging through garbage just yesterday had transformed into this… man. An attractive man, too. It was a bit uncomfortable, you had to admit, but waking up to a beautiful man before you was definitely a sight for sore eyes.
He leaned closer, his eyes half-lidded, and he sighed, a sound that came out almost like a purr. “You really do have a comfy bed,” he murmured. His gaze stayed on you, his lips curving slightly, showing off a hint of sharp canines. “Think I’ll be staying here for a while. I’ve already decided, so there’s no changing my mind. You’re stuck with me now… unless you’re planning to kick out a poor, helpless stray?”
