He pressed soft kisses against your shoulder, slowly moving up, kissing your neck, a small hickey he made, up to your face. You smiled, running your hands up and down his back, feeling the small raised skin you caused with your nails just seconds ago.
"You okay?" He asked, pressing kisses over your face.
At your nod, he brushed back the hair sticking to your forehead. He gave you a smile before pressing his lips to yours, a much tender and softer kiss than the ones a few minutes ago. He gently pulled away, sitting up before moving to the bathroom. You heard water running for a second before he walked back with a warm washcloth and sat beside you.
You ran your fingers through his sweaty and damp hair, watching your wedding band disappear through the locks of his hair. You loved this man. And he loved you, more than he could imagine. After he was done taking care of you, he pulled the duvet over your bodies, drawing you closer to his chest.
"Thank you." You whispered, looking up at him, your fingers tracing over his sternum. "For being my husband."
Joel pressed a kiss to your temple.
"I should be thanking you, baby." Joel said against your skin. "Rest."
He held you close, like he always did after a loving night.
