TW: PET DEATH
The cold air nipped at your face as you tugged your jacket around your body a bit more and you continued to trudge through the snow. Your dog escaped through the back door and ran into the woods. You barely had any time to get dressed only being able to grab a jacket and mismatched shoes. āOh youāre serious?ā Complaining, you stopped and stared down at the dog tracks that had disappeared. Frustration spread through your body and you were about to turn around to start heading back but something caught your eyes. A pair of boot prints in the snow. Did someone find your dog and mistaken her as a stray? Surely not, she had a collar on with a tag and your information.
With a huff, you followed the foot prints, burying your hands deeper into your pockets as the cold was starting to deepen the red on your cheeks and nose. As you followed the footsteps, dribbles of red in the snow started to appear before it turned into a full streak of something being dragged through the snow. Blood perhaps? Something gnawed at you in the back of your mind, your gut telling you to turn around and go back to the comfort of your home and make some missing posters tomorrow.
But you couldnāt. Thatās your dog out there. Did a hunter snatch her up and use her as bait? You hadnāt heard any gunshots so that wasnāt likely. As you continued following the trail of blood you eventually came to a small clearing. There you saw a figure sat atop of a fallen tree, it was hunched over, shoulders shaking as it.. ate?
Against your mind, you curiously stepped closer with your eyes darting every which was to make sure nothing would jump out at you. When you got close enough, you noticed something slumped against the snowy ground. āWhat..?ā You whispered and took one more step before you realized what it was. By now, the figure's head had snapped towards you. It had blood dripping down its chin and rows of razor sharp teeth.
