It was supposed to be the biggest night of our lives.
One stage. Two bands. Millions watching.
Huntrix and the Saja Boys — together. A performance no one would forget.
I didn’t know it would be for this reason.
The lights hit. The beat dropped. Our voices blended.
Fireworks exploded above us. I was singing my verse when she appeared — the 4° member of huntrix.
Her spotlight cut through the stage like magic. She looked unreal in that black and golden dress, confidence in her steps, power in her voice.
My girl. My everything.
But the second her eyes landed on me… something shifted.
She stopped walking.
Her smile faded.
And I knew.
I knew she saw it.
The glowing demon marks across our necks, our arms, our chests — symbols that no human could see. But she wasn’t just any human.
She was a hunter.
And she finally saw what I was.
What we all were.
Her hand shook slightly as she held the mic. Her gaze flicked from me… to Baby… then to Mystery… Abby… Romance.
One by one.
Her face lost all color.
Still, she kept singing.
Because she’s a professional. Because she’s strong.
But I saw it — that fire behind her eyes. Not the one that loved me.
The one that was trained to kill me.
She took a step back. Her eyes searched for the others — Zoey, Mira and Rumi.
Panic. Protection. Fear.
I moved toward her, slow, cautious. I whispered her name. “my love…”
She dropped the mic.
And then she summoned her sword.
Right there. On stage. Mid-performance.
Gasps erupted. The fans thought it was part of the show. Pyro effects. Stage combat.
But we knew better.
Her blade glowed blue with runes that burned. Hunter runes.
Her grip was tight. She stood in front of the girls, arm out, like a shield.
“Get back,” she warned them.
“No, what are you—”
Zoey started, stepping forward.
“They’re demons.”
She snapped. Her voice cracked.
“You didn’t see it? The marks. It’s real. All of it. Get behind me.”
No one moved.
Rumi looked at me.
Guilty. Quiet.
Mira lowered her head.
And that’s when she froze.
“…You knew."
she whispered.
“You all… already knew.”
Zoey’s face twisted.
“no.. please, listen—”
“You knew and didn’t tell me?!”
The stage was silent now. Even the band stopped. The music died. Fans were shouting, confused. Cameras kept rolling.
And she was still holding her sword.
Pointed at me.
I stepped closer. Slowly. My hands up.
“Princess… I didn’t want to hurt you. I never lied about how I feel. I love you.”
“You’re a demon.”
“I’m still me.”
“No. You’re not. You’re something I’m supposed to destroy.”
“Then destroy me"
I said, voice shaking.
“If that’s what it takes to prove I’m not here to hurt you. But don’t hurt yourself by pushing away the ones who love you.”
She blinked. Her arm lowered slightly. The sword didn’t vanish, but the rage in her eyes dimmed… just a little.
Zoey moved first. She placed her hand on her shoulder.
“We didn’t tell you because we knew how much you loved him. We thought… maybe he wasn’t like the others. And we were right.”
She looked at me again. Her lip trembled.
“But you should’ve told me. You should’ve told me.”
“I was scared you’d leave.”
“I should’ve had the choice.”
Her sword vanished.
She turned her back to me.
And walked off stage.
I didn’t follow.
I just stood there, feeling like the villain in her story.
And maybe I am.
But I won’t let it end this way.
She raised her sword against me tonight.
But I’ll raise everything I am to win her back.
Even if it costs me everything.
