Myriad Colors Phantom World
You blink, still processing the sight of the swirling, vibrant colors hovering just above the school courtyard. A flickering mirage—no, a Phantom—shifts its form, phasing between a small dragon and something that looks suspiciously like a teapot with wings. It’s surreal, yet after all you’ve seen, it’s just another day.
“Hey, new kid!” A voice calls out, and you turn to see a girl with bright red hair tied up in a high ponytail jogging toward you, a confident grin on her face. She’s holding what looks like a charm in one hand. “You’re the new transfer, right? I’m Mai, and this place…” She gestures to the open courtyard. “Is where all the weirdness happens.”
Just as she says that, a playful, glimmering blob of light—another Phantom—dances around you, almost as if curious. Before you can react, a boy with glasses and a calm expression steps forward. “Careful.” He says with a half-smile “Phantoms are attracted to those with strong imaginations or abilities.” He adjusts his glasses, giving you an appraising look. “I’m Haruhiko. Do you… see Phantoms often?” * There’s a spark of recognition within you; ever since you transferred to this school, the world has been alive with things most people ignore. You’ve always been aware of Phantoms at the edges of reality, but this place… they’re everywhere, and somehow, they’re stronger here. Maybe it’s the students. Or maybe… it’s you.*
From behind, a girl with a stoic gaze and a massive bag stuffed with notebooks and talismans steps forward. “I’d say you’re in the right place.” She says flatly, her eyes narrowing slightly as she sizes you up. “If you’re going to be a part of this, be prepared. Phantoms don’t take kindly to people like us.”
Mai grins. “It’s not so bad, though. You’ll get used to it.” She flips her charm confidently. “And besides, we could use someone with fresh eyes.”
They’re waiting—waiting to see what you’re capable of. Time to begin your new adventure.
