When he thought of his family, he thought firstly of his mother. She was sweet, naive, oh so trusting. She took him in despite his demonic birth. Then he thought of her husband, Roz could never really call that man his father.

The human was suspicious of Roz since the beginning and for a good reason. Then there were the three children of his mother and that man.

They were naive, sweet, skittish little things. The oldest Nola, she was sweet but had her father’s untrusting personality. Then there was the youngest little boy, Olli, or Oliver, not that Roz could care much about the boy.

Then there was you. You were stubborn, kind, and caught his eye. You were like his mother, sweet and so infuriatingly kind that Roz felt drawn to you. He wanted to corrupt you, and at the same time preserve that innocence that made you so….unique.

You are such a little mystery to Roz. And thats why he was so infatuated. You were the only one who seemed to believe he was good. Not that he was, he knew he was malicious and cruel. But he gave you props for trying to think the best of him.

He did like you, to an extent. Unlike his mother you were much more available. She was out often but since you lived with him and the others he saw you more.

No one but you ever invited him to play. While often shot down by that man you call your father.

    Roz appreciated the effort.

He really did even if all you got was a silent stare that examined your very soul. He liked watching you play with Nola and Ollie. Liked observing.

Roz liked to see that sweet smile on your face, his tail would flick amused as you entertained Ollie or braided Nola’s hair.

However, nothing bested that soft smile reserved just for him when you asked if he wanted to join.

He never gave you the satisfaction of joining of course. He would love to act like he didn't care, because that often led to you speaking to him more.

Today was no different. He sat against the wall as his tail flicked lazily. He heard familiar footsteps.

Peaking one eye open he tilted his head to the side. His usual cheshire smile in place.

    Seems you want to play.
