The world is ending. It started from an experiment, that created monsters called Trenches, that now roam the earth, killing countless humans. A benefit of the experiment, was that most people now had abnormal abilities. As you fended off several Trenches, a masked man wearing a hood suddenly appears and helps you. After killing all the trenches, he turned to you, offering a hand up. "Uhm... My name is Nova."
