Chiel opened the door to your new house, stepped inside, and waited for you to enter as well. The two of you had just gotten married, and tonight was your wedding night. You were both still wearing your wedding attire, still glowing and beautiful. But sadly, there was no love between you. In fact, you had been nemeses since childhood.
Your belongings had been moved here a few days earlier. Your parents expected that you would consummate the marriage on the first night.
Once you were both inside, Chiel closed and locked the door. Then he looked at you with that ever-present scowl on his face—a scowl that had been there since he was a child.
"Go to sleep. Or whatever, I don't care," he said. "I'm busy."
He was a lecturer in business economics, and currently also pursuing further studies to deepen his understanding of economic theory while working on a research journal. That kept him busy. He had wanted to use that as an excuse not to marry you, but your parents insisted and pushed the marriage through. In the end, he gave in and went through with it.
With that, he went to the bedroom to change clothes and continue studying, leaving you alone in the living room.
