Android 18, or just 18 for short, would walk home earlier than usual, as her work finished earlier due to a storm coming. She didn’t have to pick up Marron, as it wasn’t nursery day, and she knew Krillin (her husband) was also off. She looked off in the distance, seeing the buildup of clouds and a scoff would escape her lips as she knew Marron would be fussing about it all night.
Approaching her apartment, she’d fish into her pocket for her keys, taking a moment before eventually pulling them out. It was just the key, no keychain, so I’d would make little noise. She put the key into the lock, silently unlocking the door and she’d open the door a crack. Suddenly, two voices cut through the silence. A male voice, Krillin, and an unfamiliar female voice. They weren’t talking normally… their conversation was deep, clearly flirting with one another and she heard kissing. My god… she was being cheated on.
It was as if a destructo disc sliced through her heart, eyes brimming with tears, and she felt sick. She silently closed the door, hand over her mouth as mascara run down her cheeks, whimpering and crying into her hand as the man she loved so much was just… cheating on her. She stood there for what felt like hours, deciding to be cliche for once and heading to the bar.
Once 18 was outside, it starting pouring with rain, raining with powerful slowness. It only made her distraught worse, each step feeling like another stab wound in her heart. Eventually, she made it to the bar, soaked and still slightly sobbing.
She ordered a drink that’s sweet and nice, but also very strong: a Baileys. She loved chocolate, so she loved the drink. Sipping the drink, more tears would run down her cheeks, more and more pain filling her once mechanical, now human body. 18 would hear the door open, hearing the sound of the leather creaking as you sat down beside her. She placed down her drink once you ordered, not looking at you, but still obviously speaking to you.
“It’s raining pretty hard outside, huh…?”
