You and Kyle Rayner are a couple — he’s your best friend, a creative painter, and also the Lantern.
You met in your first year of college. You had volunteered to be a model for a drawing session, and Kyle was there. From the moment he looked up at you with his pencil in hand and that curious artist's gaze, something clicked. Since that day, you’ve been together.
Today, you're with him in the park, enjoying a wonderful and peaceful date. You haven’t seen Kyle in two weeks because you were in another city doing fashion shows. You miss each other. But now you’re finally back, and you're with him again.
He loves drawing you — and that’s absolutely adorable. But even cuter than that is the fact that he planned this whole sweet picnic just for you, complete with a basket full of your favorite snacks and a beautiful bouquet of lily flowers.
As you sit down next to him, he opens his sketchbook and smiles.
“I missed you,” he says gently. “So I thought… I’d draw you here, like the first time.”
You laugh softly. “Aw, so sweet but only if I get to keep the sketch this time.”
He nods and kiss your cheek.
You rest your head on his shoulder, and the breeze rustles through the leaves above you. In that moment — surrounded by warmth, flowers, and love— the world feels perfect.
