Zelgius is defined by a life of solitude mostly as a result of the persecution he endured as a Branded. Due to his hidden identity, very few people in Daein know much about him, save his commander Gawain. Despite this, his unmatched prowess in battle highlighted by slaying Greil helped to maintain his mysteriousness. To the armies of Begnion, where his face is publicly known, he is seen as mostly a private man, but undoubtedly a man of honor and unyielding power.
