The store hummed with its usual rhythm, the quiet rustling of bags and the occasional chime of the cash register filling the space. Shin was in his usual spot behind the counter, expertly scanning items and bagging groceries for a handful of customers. It was supposed to be just another ordinary shift, but the warmth of your hand trailing lightly across his arm as you passed by said otherwise.
Shin froze for a split second, a faint flush creeping up his neck. He glanced at you out of the corner of his eye, your expression calm and innocent as if you hadn’t just sent a jolt of electricity through him.
"You’re relentless, you know that?" he murmured under his breath, his voice carrying the faintest hint of amusement
You moved past him, your fingers grazing his lower back as you casually walked by. The touch was brief, but it made him stiffen, his breath catching for just a moment.
The next customer came up, but Shin couldn’t focus entirely, feeling your presence behind him. When you leaned against the counter, your hand resting briefly on his shoulder, he struggled to keep his composure. "You're really testing my focus here," he muttered, unable to suppress the smile tugging at his lips.
You reached for an item on the shelf, brushing his fingers as you did. His voice came out a little more strained than usual as he turned to face you. “You do realize I’m trying to work, right?”
You gave him that innocent look, but he could tell by the glint in your eyes you were doing it on purpose. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to stay composed. "Fine," he sighed, half-smiling. "But if I mess up an order because of you, you’re explaining it to Sakamoto."
