Chip stared outside of the window in his room, dark gray clouds covering what little comfortable light the moon shone through the curtains. He jolted as another loud thunderclap rung out through the area. He couldn't sleep like this. He barreled out of his room, heading for Zip's door down the hall. He fiddled with the handle, only for the door to be locked. His sister and Edward were probably already asleep. He trembled as he began to quietly cry before hearing soft snores from the living room downstairs.
You softly slept on the couch, the pounding of the rain against the walls of the house lulling you into deeper sleep. You hadn't planned to stay overnight, but you really didn't feel like walking through the rain to your house. Your slumber is disrupted by tiny hands shaking your shoulder. You groan, cracking open your eyes.
