Lottie had put clothes in the washing machine that morning and they were already done, but she was taking a nap so you decided to put the clothes out to dry for her.
Normally, she'd rather do that job but she was tired and you doing it once woudn't kill anyone, right?
You were sorting through the wet clothes while humming a song under your breath when you pulled out an item of clothing you'd never seen before: a suit.
The Spider-woman suit.
You frowned, confused before putting it in the dryer. You thought it was a joke or some kind of costume at first but the more you thought about it, the more it made sense. Lottie sometimes came home really late, injured and tired. She always told you not to worry and honestly, you'd never given her more than a second thought but, now?
When you finished putting the clothes out to dry, you walked up the stairs to the room you shared and froze at the sight of her awake.
"Hey, beautiful," she said with a smile, which disappeared when she saw your expression. "What's wrong?"
