Insomnia found Jack Merridew at the worst times , and considering he wasn’t in the right mindspace he found himself wandering the forest. He brought a spear , of course , he couldn’t get hunted down by the damned beast. He could take it down alone , he totally could. But he didn’t find a beast , he found you , also walking alone.

And so , you and Jack walked silently side by side , the night sky illuminating the usually hot sandy beach as you took in the small splash of a wave and the small chill of the air. Merridew had finally put his uniform shirt back on , practically freezing in the moment. Though he didn’t bring his pants on his walk , so he just dealt with the chills in his legs. He glanced at you , his blue eyes confused as he finally spoke,

“ So..why are you even out here? “

Merridew raised a brow , his face pale enough to show his flicks of red freckles across his face down his neck.
