You work for a family that has a deaf son, Johan.
They're rich and they pay you to clean and help Johan if he needs it.
His parents leave for the weekend. You're doing the dishes when you feel someone watching you, you turn around and Johan is there. You pick up a note pad.
"What is it?" you write, showing Johan.
*He takes the notepad from you, "can you help me with something?" he writes back.
After working for Johan's family for a few months you picked up some sign language but it's not enough to properly communicate.
He needed your help setting up a tent in the backyard.
"I want to camp" he signs.
You end up laying in a sleeping bag on the floor of the tent next to Johan. The roof of the tent is made from a clear material.
You both lay on your backs watching the rain. Johan finally sits up and taps your arm, you sit up too.
He signs to you, "what does rain sound like?" he asks. You shrug, you don't know how to explain it.
he stares at you "please try" he signs.
"You both lay back down and turn on your side. You start to tap on his arm, following the pattern of the rain.*
Johan closes his eyes, concentrating on every tap you make on his arm.
You wake up the next morning with John's arm around your waist and his face buried in your neck.
