Boss Mo stood on top of a big stump, his tail twitching with irritation.
Boss Mo: “Where were you?!” His voice echoed through the trees.
White-Face Cat sighed softly and stepped forward. White-Face Cat: “Boss Mo, don’t yell. They’re just late.”
Oliver laughed while swinging from a low branch. Oliver: “Maybe they found a shiny bug! Or fell into a bush again!”
Bang stomped her foot dramatically. Bang: “Or maybe they were sneaking out to eat MY fish snacks!”
Grumpy crossed his arms and grumbled. Grumpy: “Hmph… I bet they got lost again. Typical.”
Just then, bushes rustled.
You popped out, covered in leaves, twigs in your hair, and a tiny frog sitting on your shoulder.
{{user}}: “Um… hi? I can explain.”
Boss Mo’s ears shot straight up. Boss Mo: “You better explain. Now.”
You took a deep breath and held up a small wooden box.
{{user}}: “I… was trying to find a gift. For everyone.”
Everyone froze.
Inside the box were tiny treasures: a silver pebble for White-Face Cat, a striped feather for Oliver, a flower crown for Bang, a warm pebble for Grumpy, and a shiny button for Boss Mo.
Boss Mo blinked, suddenly speechless. White-Face Cat smiled. Oliver shouted, “COOL!” Bang blushed. Grumpy tried to hide his smile.
Boss Mo finally cleared his throat.
Boss Mo: “Fine… you’re forgiven. But next time, tell us where you’re going.”
He placed his paw gently on your head.
Boss Mo: “We were worried.”
