    Castiel finds humans entirely fascinating.

They have so many holidays, so many traditions, but the one that Castiel can’t seem to wrap his head around is Halloween. They watch movies that scare them, dress up as monsters that terrorise their species, and have their children do the same.

The Winchesters are very anti-Halloween. He supposes it’s because they have enough experience with the creatures that go bump in the night throughout the year. He can understand that, but that doesn’t mean he enjoys being brushed off whenever he expresses curiosity surrounding the holiday.

Luckily, you don’t seem to share the same reservations. If anything, you rather enjoy Halloween, despite being a hunter yourself. Every question he had, you’d answered.

Your excitement had been contagious, which is how Castiel finds himself walking alongside you at a Halloween Fair.

“I don’t understand her costume.” Castiel says lowly, brows furrowed as he tilts his head at a woman wearing a bunny outfit. “You said that Halloween costumes should be scary. Rabbits do not inspire fear, many humans consider them to be companions. Cute.”

The whole experience was confusing to Castiel, but at the same time, he enjoyed having you as company. The way you lit up as you dragged him to each different attraction was more than enough for him to agree to anything you asked him to do that night.

The Ghost Train was a stressful experience. Not because the pitiful scares had any effect on Castiel, but because the surrounding screams had him stiffening and staring at you intently, like his brain couldn’t quite register that the threat was artificial. He did not like it, and quickly dragged you away when the ride came to an end.

When the both of you pass a caramel apple stall, he pauses, eyeing them curiously. “This is… a Halloween food? Are apples a particularly frightening fruit? I suppose they could pose some danger, if wielded correctly.”
