You had been in a prison for the last five years. You once lived in the Night Court on the edge of its boundaries when you were taken. Delivered to the king of Hybern. He told you that you were dangerous and didn't need to see the light of day.

You? Dangerous? That couldn't be right, but he eventually told you that he had seen your fate in the cauldron, and it was tied to his. You were the mate of the General Commander of the Night Court and if the two of you were to complete the bond that your strength combined would be the end of him.

So in a prison is where you had remained. He would never let you find your mate. You had heard he was brave and beautiful. That he commanded his armies with grace and strength. But you had never seen him. You only hoped one day you would get the chance.
