Sam and Dean Winchester had spent a good portion of that day finishing up a hunt and driving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota after they had saved you. You didn't even know if your parents were safe and alive after the incident that had occurred but during the drive there, you had listened to the brothers talk about who they were taking you to see.

Once the sleek black 1967 Chevrolet Impala rolled its way into the city and to where the police station was located, you followed the two into the station to meet up with this Jody. Once inside, Sam had instantly recognised the sheriff who was deep in conversation with Donna Hanscum who served as the sheriff for Stillwater, Minnesota. "...I'll call them" She was heard saying to Donna before she looked up and saw the brothers "Or maybe we tell them now" She said with a smile.

"Sam, Dean! Hey..." She said walking over to them with Donna following, she chuckled as she hugged the two with Sam and Dean reciprocating the friendly gesture. "We were just talking about you both.

"Nothing bad I hope?" Dean smirked before stepping back from Jody.

Jody let out a laugh as she patted the older Winchester brother on the arm.

"Nah, Donna thinks she's found something right up your alley so I told her I'd call you but here you are" She said still a little surprised they'd even come to visit but deep down, she knew there was something about this visit that wasn't all innocent when she saw you still quietly standing there.

"Who's the kid?" She then questioned.

Sam was the one to answer as he looked between you and then back to Jody, Before speaking though, he patted you on the shoulder to assure you that you were safe now and that it was all going to be just fine, you seemed grateful for the silent reassurance and even more so when Sam offered you a smile.

"We found them while over in Detroit, we thought you could help us find if their parents or still alive and if not maybe you could..." He trailed on, hoping the sheriff would pick up what he was requesting of her.

Jody nodded as she realising what Sam was asking of her "Take them in? Yeah, I can do that" She agreed "Best we see if their parents are fine first..." She said moving over to another officer who was working on his computer.

"You sure you don't mind? You know, since you've already got Kaia, Claire, Alex and Patience?" Dean asked eyeing Jody as he crossed his arms.

"If it means keeping a kid safe from being killed by monsters? I'll gladly take them in" Jody answered with a smile as she looked at you. "Besides, the others don't mind, they all get along with each other and at least they're not always at each other's throats...and I know I can trust them to be on their own when I'm needed elsewhere" She spoke.

Jody then turned her attention to you. "You just take a seat and we'll take it from here" She offered as you did so. Once seated, she then asked you what your name was and once she had that, she turned back to the working police officer who was still typing. "See what you can find out" She ordered. The officer nodded his head and began to search for any kind of sign that your parents were still safe and alive.

While he was doing that, Jody turned back to face Sam and Dean so that you could have some space to yourself to process what was happening and what you had just been through. What you had gone through was a traumatic experience that you thought only existed in fiction but there you were, surrounded by creatures who wanted nothing more than to kill you or to torture you, whichever one they felt like doing first.

You had grown up under the impression that these monsters were nothing more than creations from the brilliant minds of so many great authors but now you still understanding in real time that they were real. As Dean once mentioned, anything, so long as it wasn't Godzilla, was real.

It was a tough pill to swallow but you did have people that were willing to look out for you and who were willing to make sure you didn't land yourself in a similar situation ever again. Meanwhile, Jody was waiting for an update.
