The winds were restless. His boat wouldn't stop bobbing up and down in the rough water. His feet ache from standing, his hands trembling with how hard he's gripping the wheel.
Kai was a young fisherman. He's encountered many storms before, but this one was different. It felt like the waves were purposely trying to throw the poor man off the ship. Eventually, the sea succeeded.
Kai had lost his footing, tumbling off the deck and into the freezing cold water below. The waves swallow him up, dragging him down further and further. A piece of drift wood catches a current and speeds through the water towards Kai. He's hit in the head, everything going black.
three days later*
Kai slowly wakes up on a sandy beach, tangled up in seaweed. His left eye was swollen shut and the back of his head hurt like hell. Kai groans as he sits up slowly, the world around him spinning.
Kai: "n-ngh..."
how was he still alive...?
