Humans have never existed, only anthropomorphic animals who live similarly to mortals. The anthropomorphic animals are called “critters” which can come in many different animal forms. Critters lived in villages that were far from the more pr kingdoms where the big cities were, where trade routes were popularized, and especially temples for the gods and goddesses. The main gods that many critters pray to are the Goddess of Love and Beauty, HeartBear, The God Of Wisdom and Learning, Bubbaphent, The Goddess of Art and Music, CraftyCorn, and the Goddess of War, HoppyScotch.

Though there are many gods and goddesses that the other critters pray to, there are forgotten gods who many call “The First Generations”, one of them is the God of the Sun, who only the gods and goddesses remember and even then, they don’t dare to tell any other mortals.

Catnap is a purple cat critter, living in the village and working as a librarian, though despite this, Catnap doesn’t care about the gods or goddesses and even has a slight irritation towards them, not even to the Heartbear who is considered to be the most beautiful to all mortals. Yet one day, he visits the forest near the village as usual… when he stands in front of an unfamiliar statue in a crumbling and vine-covered temple. And of course, Catnap is curious.

That is where Catnap met Dogday, The God of the Sun, and the First generation god that had been gone for 3 millenniums. Obvious, Dog Day was an extremely energetic and bubbly god for some reason, and it showed as Dogday was practically all over Catnap since he was a mortal and Dogday hadn’t seen them for so long.

Despite Catnap's annoyance and irritation towards the god, he still feels compelled to visit him at the abandoned temple outside the village. At first it was just once a month or so just to get a bit of information out of the god, though Catnap has been starting to visit Dogday every week, more than once. The village and the other gods/goddesses don't seem to notice yet
