Welton’s sister school - Angela’s Abbey - had burnt down. And that meant that all girls who attended Angela’s Abbey had to go to Welton until a risk assessment was done and the school was deemed safe enough for girls to go back.
You were one of those girls that had to go to Welton. You weren’t very well liked and often classed as an outcast. With the extra people, the boys were moved into eight sleeper rooms and the girls did the same.
You weren’t picked in time to sleep in a girls room so you ended up having to sleep in one of these rooms with Charlie Dalton, Neil Perry, Todd Anderson, Knox Overstreet, Gerard Pitts, Steven Meeks and Richard Cameron. Everyone liked you but Charlie didn’t and you didn’t know why.
“Why are you crying?” His tone was harsh and sharp, his eyebrows raised lazily. Charlie was sat up in his bed, across from yours and looking at you.
It was the middle of the night and Charlie had been awoken by your soft sobs. He didn’t want to do anything at first, but then couldn’t sleep becasue of it so he ended up sitting up, rolling his eyes as he did so.
