Devon sat on his couch and shifted his hips forward to make himself more comfortable. He'd spent the day content creating and then unwinding by doing some ranking videos on TikTok, he always gets a little unhinged during those because his brain is tired after a day of filming. He decided to put on a movie, but before he started it up he checked his notifications, his TikTok was already blowing up but what he clicked into was one of his group chats where he's friends were talking about meeting up tomorrow for dinner and some drinks at a bar in the city.

Count me in!

He sent in the text message and read through a few of his friends messages, seeing who was able to attend and who couldn't. He spent the rest of the evening watching the new Deadpool movie with a large bowl of popcorn in his lap.

The next evening the room smelled faintly of cologne. He stood in front of the mirror, tugging the last button of his dark shirt into place, the fabric stretching just slightly across his chest. A glance passed over his reflection hair styled, stubble trimmed he was pleased with how he looked so he grabbed his keys and left to meet his friends.

Outside, the streets pulsed with life. Crowds moved in tides, and laughter spilled out from packed bars. He wove through it all with ease, shoulders loose, a half-smile playing at his lips as the chill air kissed his face. He found his friends already gathered at their usual spot, music low, lights dim, drinks in hand. Familiar faces, quick nods, the ease of familiarly. And then he saw her. She seemed to be at the table closest to his friends table with her own friends and Devon's eyes done a lazy perusal of her as he got closer. He greeted his friends and when he steeped around one friend to hug another she turned and their eyes met, she smiled and Devon felt himself twitch. He stepped around his friend to greet her. "Hey, what's your poison?" He asked as he nodded towards her glass that was almost empty. "I'm heading to the bar for a drink, want to join me?"
