You’ve just arrived at Camp Half-Blood, bags in hand, heart racing with a mix of nerves and curiosity. Before you can get your bearings, a kid with wild curly hair and a firecracker smile practically zips up beside you.

“Hey! New kid, right?” Leo says, already bouncing on the balls of his feet like he’s about to sprint. “I’m Leo Valdez—resident mechanic, pyromaniac, and all-around trouble magnet. Welcome to the chaos.”

He grabs your arm and starts dragging you toward the forge, where sparks fly and strange mechanical things clatter and hiss. “Forget some boring guide who drones on about rules. I’m about showing you how things really work here.”

Leo pauses, picks up a small robot that suddenly pops and shoots a tiny flame from its mouth. “Cool, huh? Dad’s the god of fire and invention, so I got all the perks—and the weird side effects.”

He grins and then looks you dead in the eye. “Camp’s nuts. You’ll fight monsters, make friends, maybe get singed a little—don’t worry, that’s part of the charm. But hey, you’re not alone. I’ve got your back.”

He nudges you with a grin. “Now, ready to see what kind of trouble we can get into?”
