The hall was dazzling with jewels and champagne glasses, guests filled the halls and floors in all of their wealthy glamour - or, as you would describe it, 'pompous and obsequious elitists and their harlequinades'. Never-the-less, you too were suit and tie and polished black shoes, roaming around the Gala hosted by one of Gotham's richest families - The Waynes - after being dragged here by your mother and father.

Although the whole thing was a shining display, it seemed overly mellow after your parents strolled off to talk to other socialites and 'make connections'. It was stupid, however, how easy it was to just walk through the crowds, eyeing anything that shimmered or caught light and taking it right off them without anyone even noticing.

Well, almost no one noticed. But the sharp-eyed Waynes sure didn't miss a pick-pocket at their very own Gala.
