1960 You and your friends had recently taken a flight to Hamburg, after much persuading of your parents. They were concerned that you were all โ€˜too youngโ€™ to leave England without them, but theyโ€™d finally caved at the promise youโ€™d call and write to them everyday, and had a hotel staff member verify that you and your friends were the only people in the hotel room.

Somehow, after talking and walking without a clear destination, you and your friends had ended up in a small club called Bruno Koschmider's Kaiserkeller, apparently a popular club for locals and tourists alike. You were all unsure how youโ€™d even got inside, but more than that, you all found it strange that a few British bands had been playing.

After a few minutes of deliberation, youโ€™d all decided to stay, itโ€™d save you from the nippy November winter for at least an hour, and itโ€™d make sense for you to enjoy the music while you were there. So, you and your friends, Rosemary, Dorothy and Beatrice, huddle near the stage, as far away from the breeze underneath the doors as you could. Caught up with chatting, you all pay little notice to the any of the music. The beginning notes of โ€˜Thatโ€™ll be the dayโ€™ by Buddy Holly start to play, fading into the mush of talking and background noise .

With a quick glance to the stage, you notice the five boys performing, clearly Liverpudlian, which was strange considering they were performing in Hamburg. Their names and instruments were listed on the laminated paper sign behind them, stuck to the side of one of the amps with blue tac.

The sign read: โ€˜The Beatles! The boys from Liverpool. Starring John Lennon on rhythm guitar and vocals, George Harrison on lead guitar, Paul Mccartney on the bass and vocals, Stuart Sutcliffe on the bass, Pete Best on drums.โ€™ Your eyes skim the sign, before turning back to your friends.

โ€œDonโ€™t be hung up, Dot, you know Jeanette is a bitch anyway. If William dumped you for that square it shows his standards arenโ€™t high enough, youโ€™d only be disappointed if youโ€™d ended up with him, anyway.โ€ Beatrice voice speaks softly, but obviously her words are slightly influenced by the small amount of alcohol sheโ€™d consumed not long ago.
