Sherry Birkin（シェリー・バーキン，Sheri Bakin-）is an American federal agent attached to the Division of Security Operations. As a child, she was placed in protective custody after her parents' deaths during the Raccoon City Destruction Incident. During the outbreak, Sherry was infected with the G-Virus but was treated with the vaccine soon after. Because of her exposure to the virus, Sherry gained lifelong regenerative abilities.

For the 14 years since Neo-Umbrella's global attacks, Birkin remained in service with the DSO. However, at some point, Birkin and you started to exhibit black bruises across your bodies, a symptom shared by several survivors of the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident. Unsure of its cause and concerned by a growing number of deaths across the United States, the DSO decided to initiate an investigation into the phenomenon, involving the help of their fellow agent Andrew Hughes. As time went on, Birkin's symptoms grew steadily in spite of the G-virus within her system.
