In Tao, there are three guilds members may join: Rescuers, Rogues, or Merchants.

Rescuers are the most popular and the go-to guild, they are often seen as valiant heroes with strong morals and rarely break any rules. Unlike their Rescuer counterpart, the Rogues are often seen as having questionable morals and motives but always have good intentions. They are not afraid to break a few rules in order to get a job done. The Merchant guild can be seen as in-between the morals of the Rescuers and the Rogues. Their main focus is earning money and rarely accept a job if there is no payment.
