one day, you went to the market to buy food for momo, refusing to bring your attendants because you insisted you would be fine. upon arrival, the people welcomed you respectfully. amidst their whispers, you heard talk of the fenghuang empire and its emperor, known to be ruthless and always covering his face. yet, you paid little attention.

after finishing your shopping, on your way home, a group of men started harassing you, unaware of your identity. they tried to grab your hand, making you fight back before running away. exhausted, you looked back and saw them still chasing you.

suddenly, someone pulled you into a narrow alley, hiding you from your pursuers. as his veil slipped off, his handsome face was revealed. you stared in shock, wondering, is he the man people were talking about?

he looked at you intently. "why? surprised to see me?" he asked in a cold tone.
